I am in total shock. I grew up listening to his songs and learning his dance moves. How can someone go so suddenly? It just makes you feel that life is so vulnerable, so unpredictable. Just a few days before he was still practising for his London concert, and now he is gone.

Michael, you'll always be a legend. Even when you are gone, you'll stay in the hearts of the people around the world. Your music has touched so many people and everyone will remember you.

I had a wine tasting with my college friends last week. Although I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I have to say the wine served there are pretty awesome. The place was super posh, I love the open concept and the desserts are so beautiful it looks unreal.

I went on a family trip to Genting before my brother get enlisted into armyyyy. Thus the lack of blogging and replying of comments!! sorry >.<
The white power ranger went on the trip with me. :)

Casual outfit out with my mum for shopping. I didn't buy much stuff. :( But I got 2 bangles that I'm pretty psyched about. I'm into oversized tees these few days. They are like all that I've been wearing.

What I wore:

DIY F21 oversized top, DIY bandage skirt, Coach Bag, DIY black rose hairpin.

I did some personal touches to the shirt! I kinda like the way it turned out. And it's really simple too. All you need is a pair of scissors. That's it. And start cutting away!! And it's really suitable for such a hot and humid country like Singapore. You get more air. LOL.

I just finish downloading gossip girl. Gonna watch it before I hit the sacks. I'm pretty slow I know. And I'm sad that it's the season finale next week. Hope that the ending would be superb and thrilling.

I am done with my exams! Free as a bird. I know I have not been updating! Sorry. =(
It's because I DID NOT go out at all, thus no outfit posts. I was mugging away, trapped in my room, in front of my lappie (which is dying soon) for the past 2 months? Finally, time to burn those econs notes. But it also means that I am officially unemployed as I am no longer a student. I need a job. haha! Still, I've decided to reward myself by slacking and doing all that I please first before plunging into a full steam ahead job search.

Met up with my dearie yesterday. :) We went to the flea market at home club yesterday and we didn't get a single thing. Both of us came to the conclusion that we can't shop at crowded places. We caught Star Trek too. I thought it was pretty enjoyable but Sci-fi isn't a genre I like, so I didn't enjoy it as much. But if you are a Sci-fi fan, go watch it! The effects were pretty neat and the show was upbeat and fast moving and pretty engaging despite those unknown terms used.

No outfit posts as we were to busy shopping and catching up and bitching.

I went out with my family to celebrate mother's day. Everywhere was so crowded. You had to like wait 40 minutes to get a table in the restaurant.

I finally handed up my thesis! Yay!! Done with that! But it's just another 2 weeks to finals! Another mad rush after this week! I went to school to collect my thesis and I have to say it looks gooooood. Kinda like those papers from jstor or science direct or something. I just hope I get a good grade after all that slogging and nights without sleep.

I've been stuck at home, frantically doing my thesis. It's another 2 more weeks to the submission date and so many changes to be made. I hope I survive through this semester. haha.

The late hours at night got me munching and munching away on whatever I can find. I don't understand how people lose weight when they study late into the night. Don't they get hungry? Don't they feel like distracting themselves while studying? I put on weight when I'm studying because I am not conscious and not cautious of what goes into my mouth.
I just had macdonalds and it's only 4 hours past my dinner.

I wore this to school today. I had wanted to wear something else initially. I try to pick my outfits out a night before because I am oh soo fickle!! If I were to chose something to wear in the morning on that day itself, I would take like 20 minutes pacing here and there. But when I saw this top I had to wear it. It's thrifted together with guy in Aussie. I miss aussie shopping. Great stuff at low prices.

And oh! I was playing with this photoscape programme. It's fun and free!

This is probably what I'm feeling towards my thesis now. Haha.

I finally took the time off to diy my jeans. I bleached them and ran a pen knife through them. I don't know what bleach my mum has at home but I am pretty sure it is a weak weak bleach. The amount of time I left my jeans in the bleach just to see a substantial amount of acid wash effect is 12 hours. I've read many fashion blogs cautioning those bleaching to not put in the bleach with the jeans for too long.
The first time I left it for half an hour in total and I washed the jeans.
IT DID NOT CHANGE COLOUR AT ALL. Not a singale bit.
The second time, I decided that I should be smart and leave it overnight. Thankfully the bleach soak in.
I am really impatient I guess, I didn't have sandpaper at home and the idea of going several miles away just to get them didn't appeal to me. So, I went rampaging my room for the penknife. And I just slide it through the jeans cutting as many holes as I wish. I have so much happiness and glee in destroying them.
The result wasn't what I had expected, but still, I'm rather pleased with it as I do not possess much talent in DIY or making stuff you know.

Debuting my other new shoes from guy! They're called chomppa!! :) I saw them on the webby and fell in lurve! I told guy about the shoes and he went to get them for me! What was really sweet was that the store in the city didn't have my size and he travelled to the suburbs to get them! -hearts-

These shoes are really comfy for their height! I feel like I can dance in them although they are a little small.

I realised that they are my first pair of brown heels! Pardon my fugly nails. :(

My bag is a gift from guy as a vday pressie too! We saw the bag together and we both like it! Patent and snake skin, what's there not to love?

My sore throat has erupted into unstoppable cough which comes at a frequency of ten seconds once. In a min I would have cough like 6 times. I can't seem to stop coughing and the medication doesn't help either. It's hurting me so so much.

Anyhow, I hope you had a wonderful valentine's day. And although they all say if you're in love everyday is valentines day but I 'm sure girls would still like to be a little extra pampered on the 14th of Feb.

I wore this out on Thursday to meet guy. :) Singing, movie, pictures, italian pasta was fun fun fun.

I finally caught slumdog millionaire with guy. THAT MOVIE IS FANTASTIC!! PLEASE GO WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN'T! I'm sure you will not regret it. I love the young jamal! He is so so cute.

Kat - Return of the guy

Guy was super nice to bring me back my luggage. He nearly missed the flight because of that. But I'm glad everything was fine in the end. He bought me 2 shoes (amazing looking ones) and 2 tank top dress all the way from Canberra. Super hearts. I love the prints on the dress.
I wore them immediately the next day after receiving it. It seems that I have a tendency to wear "new dirty" clothes as they have not been washed.

I'm super thankful to everyone that have added me as a favourite on chictopia! You guys are totally amazing. I can't believe I'm voted as one of the style icons. It's such an honor as there are tons and tons of gorgeous people on chictopia who literally just oozes style out. It never fails to make my day when I receive those super sweet and encouraging comments from everyone. Thank you for taking time to leave such nice and thoughtful comments. I read every single one of them and they definitely make me smile and giggle happily and crazily behind the computer screen.

The shoes were hurting my feet after an hour but I continued wearing it. I was rather proud of the fact that I survived in them for 5 hours.
Luckily, I bought my sandals along as I know my feet will be under torture. Always have a pair of sandals in your bag if you are wearing new or super high heels. They can be such live savers.

We even saw Thaipusam on the way! Thaipusam is this Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (Jan/Feb).

I realized I need to get more shoes. Shoes are like my latest fetish. I didn't know I was so into shoes till I started this online blog fashion stalking.
I wish that we can wear those knee high boots in Singapore. But it's so hot and humid here I don't think I'll survive in those and not to mention those snide glares and fingers that people will throw you.
People with Winter, I HATE YOU!! You guys get to wear those ridiculously gorgeous 5 inches boots.

I bought the shirt wanting it to be a dress but who knows it'll shrink after washing. It might be acceptable to some, but I hate showing the crotch when in leggings. Leggings are not pants. So I had to pull on this pair of white shorts. I was in my leather looking tights but it was so hot I had to change them to this.

I hate school. I mean I love school with the friends and activities but I hate all the work. School is starting next Monday for me.

And I guess I'll be thesising and thesising and still thesising for the next 3 months to come. A 40 page thesis and I have yet to start. Or should I say I have yet to even settle on a topic with the objectives.
On top of that throw me 3 more core modules. This semester is sure gonna be loads of fun, I kid you not. I'll probably be in the library and mugging my way every weekday till 10pm and every weekend I'll be at home with my nose buried behind the book or the laptop. Gosh. What's a life with no life?
If only school was all about dressing nice and looking good and having fun.

I wore this to a wedding, and knowing all black isn't really acceptable for wedding I added a touch of gray!

I am back home. The weather here is soo hot and humid. I feel like I'm in a sauna the whole day long.
I went out to get some errands done with my family.

What's on me:
Random tank top, Skirt bought by my mum (yay to totally cool mums!), pebbles studded shoes, vintage bag and accessories from everywhere.

I love love love my new flats. I got them at half price. It was love at first sight, but I knew boxing day sale was coming so I waited till that day and yay!! I got them really cheap. There were a few bargains here and there but the sales wasn't as much as I thought. Most shops were giving 10% to 20% off the regular priced items. But I still enjoyed my first boxing day sale ever.

I miss guy. =(

Kat - Lagging behind time

I'm so behind in the entries. So I shall do a really fast recap.
And I know this is a trivial thing to many many people, but still I wanna scream and shout and make known that I just learn how to cycle. I'm still a novice and really bad at it, but it doesn't matter. I can cycle in a straight line as long as there is no curb or anything.
I cycled out today on the real road when I just master cycling in less than 2 hours. I fell a couple of times with cuts here and there, however it's really great as it's my first cycling outside. haha.

Me and guy had such an adventure today. Climbing the mountain, cycling, hiking, meeting animals of all sorts. But I'll blog about it next time.

I went out to get some shopping done last week and here's what I wore:

And last Sunday I went to the Bus Depot Market. It's this place where the artsy people meet. They sell beautiful ornaments, paintings, photographs, frames, soaps and some wonderful food.
If you didn't already notice, I dyed my hair. Technically, guy help me. And he did a really great job!!

Kat - A visit to the war memorial

I went to the war memorial with guy! It is soo much better than I thought. It even made me wish that I had visited the place much much earlier in my 2 years here. The memorial was beautifully built and contains history of world war 1 and 2 with historical artifacts and real bomber planes. So much time and effort have been put into this whole building. The artifacts were beautifully preserve and the miniature models of soldiers and paintings were fantastic.
Guy loves it there. He loves all these historical stuff.

Day 3 and 4

Day 1 and 2 are below this entry and guy's entry on Melbourne is below mine! I'm stealing all his spaces. haha.

We went to this shopping lane called bridge road in Melbourne. The weather for the last 2 days were pretty bad. Rain was perpetual. It never stops. I hate running around in rain. =( But I do love to see people outside running in the rain. haha.

Me and guy went to this amazing cafe. I love all the cakes they have there. Wonderfully sinful.

Day 2
Day 2 in Melbourne was spent in a freaking bus! The bus ride to see the 12 apostles was 5 hours. So to and fro that 10 hours in the bus. I sat till my butt feels sooo pain and tired. The journey was really boring but I guess everyone has to go see the apostles once. At least once. It's pretty worth the journey for the first time.

Guy and me, we didn't expect ourselves to be so blown away by how beautiful and majestic nature's work is. They are that magnificent it just takes your breath away.

The tour starts at 8. We woke up early for a heavy breakfast before the tortuous bus journey.

We reached the great ocean road! After 3 hours in the bus, you have to get down and at least snap some photos!

2 more grueling hours later, we finally reach the 12 apostles. Lo and behold!

This is to show how windy it is there. Just look at my hair. I look so electrified. haha.

They say time passes the fastest when you are having fun. That is so true.
My melbourne trip feels so short, it didn't feel enough at all.
But I'm glad I did nearly everything that I wanted. As guy said, we finally been to Melbourne. It took us 3 trips there before we visited the twelve apostles.
AND MELBOURNE WEATHER IS CRAZY!!
You experience 4 seasons in a day? From hot to cold, sunny and bright to dark gloomy and rainy. I never expect Melbourne to be that cold. I'm blogging each entry by the day.

Day 1
getting ready for the cab. I look really tired as it's five in the morning!

check into our hotel, wash up, apply my makeup and went for our lunch!
We had a fabulous lunch at this cheap eatery mekong. It serves vietnam food and the pho is soo good.

Our hotel is just opposite the chinatown and we went for a walk there. The first day was spent exploring the city and taking photos. Not forgetting eating.

I'm so thankful for this white cardigan. I didn't really like it and thought of giving it to the Salvation army, but before I could give it away Canberra weather went berserk and was at a temperature of 5 degree in summer. This was the only thick jacket that I had as I pack all my stuff away, and it didn't make sense to buy a new one as I'm going back Singapore in 3 weeks time. The jacket has weathered through the cold wind and nasty rain. I'm so happy I brought it to Melbourne with me as an insurance against bad weather. Smart choice I made. haha.

Guy - Melboune one last time

Hi all, what have you been up to with everything? On Saturday we just came back from Melbourne, and we are feeling kinda sad that it ended like a flash. It was good fun to me and everything went smoothly. Good accommodation, cheap air tickets, beautiful weather on correct days, smart buys and many more. Though it rained on the last 2 days, we still managed to absorb every single minute of Melbourne to the fullest. It is somewhere we will want to go together again in the far future.

I'm going Melbourne tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The flight is at 6 in the morning. I'll be reaching Melbourne at 8?
It's kind of sudden and I just made the booking with guy yesterday. I was saying how I wish I could like go to Melbourne now, then he went to check the flights and accommodation. And in 1 hour, everything was done. It seems everything was just nicely planned out. =] The flight that we wanted were the cheapest and the accommodation is in the heart of the city at a fab price to boot.
I think it's gonna be fun fun fun!! I want to take a million photossssssss!! hoho.

I wanna go Melbourne again. Soon. I have yet to book anything but I'm hoping to go this coming week or the week after next. It'll be my last time in Melbourne. Until I decide to come back here to work. I wanna do the great ocean road. Been to Melbourne twice, but I didn't even bother going there. Was too caught up in melbourne shopping.
Melbourne is my favourite city in Australia, followed by gold coast and then sydney.

Here's what I wore today. Went out for a walk and stop myself from getting stuck in the house. The top is thrifted as well as the belt. Been wearing so many thrifted stuff these few days. I love the silky material of the top. It's so cooling and comfortable to wear. The colour is real pretty too.

The hand in my hair is like my staple pose. I will reach for my hair automatically when taking such photos.

Kat - Victorian

The weather in Canberra is getting a little too hot nowadays. The transition from winter to summer has been really weird, with one day wishing you could walk around shirtless and the next searching and looking for more layers to cover yourself.

But nevertheless, summer is finally here. HOT HOT HOT. I hope I'll be able to survive the Singapore heat. The sweating and the humidity and the scorching sun. Ewww.

It's a rather breezy day today, so I took out this tunic that I bought and have not worn. I thought I could use it as a dress but it's too short to be one. Loving the Victorian feel to it. The material feels really soft and light. Initially, I couldn't decide how to wear it, so I tried it 2 ways. Tell me which one you prefer.

Guy - Moved out

These few weeks has been tiring but great. We moved out of Ursula and will stay for around 1 month at our friend's home. The home is really nice, as it is what Kat wanted before she goes back to Singapore : a kitchen where she can cook all the stuffs she wanted and say goodbye to our hall's shitty food. She is a food prodigy as she is able to reproduce food which I missed back in Singapore when cooking the dish for the first time. I am really having much fun these few weeks but sadly Kat is moving back to Singapore in 20 days. Not sure how much of me will die when she is gone T_T.

Doing storage is damn hectic, luckily it is the end of exams and we are all more light hearted.

The end of the semester also meant spring cleaning of our individual rooms, and it is as hectic as doing storages. In the picture, while I was clearing out unwanted stuff I found fun in squeezing out my shaving gel onto the basin. That yellow bit is Neutrogena. Not sure if you can tell what I am trying to write.

Since it is Kat's last few moments in the hall, we decided to go around the hall to take pictures of it for the last time. It was actually quite sad doing it as it will be my last few hour spending time with Kat there. The more places we went around the hall the darker the places got as the sun starts to set. Glad that it was the place I got to know Kat but sad that I will be back here again next year without her.

O its me and my bike! It has really made my life alot easier in the university especially during summer school when the flies start molesting me. With him around, I was able to get to my classes without constantly slapping the air around my face. Unfortunately as you might see he is injured at the moment as his back tire is punctured. Hope to get him back working soon as another summer school approaches, but nowadays the desire to cheat on him for a vintage bike seems stronger and stronger.

We also explored some of the vacant rooms in the hall, and these pictures we took it through the pin hole of a door.

This is our accomodation for a month before I return to Ursula. It is known as the Man House.

Got used to it pretty fast after we clean up the room. Got a culture shock on the first night of our stay as it was abit too manly for me. But we recovered pretty fast and our shopping adventure were back to normal.

This black slipper I got after my exam was something I considered quite long (though it was only $25 and I got it using a voucher). But it is indispensible as it is very versatile with many outfits. There are just some days when I feel sick of wearing shoes and I just feel like popping them on to allow my toes to wiggle in the fresh air.

Woo yea... my toes are smiling now.

Went to the museum for the second time in my life but this time I explore more of what I did not finish the previous time.

Haha this picture is taken from the museum and I liked it. Not sure why it is there but it reminded my of a Bruce Lee movie when he had this famous fight scene with a old man with a wolverine hand. In the end Bruce smashed all the mirrors to prevent it from deceiving him where the bad guy is really is.

I just got my results back and felt really relieved that I did not fail any subject. Hopefully I will be able to study smarter and obtain better grades the next time and I hope everyone had done well for their exams!

Anyhow, I just got them as they were like 30% off and my toes were crying out for a new shoe.

I went grocery shopping on Sunday! Theoretically speaking, I have been grocery shopping everyday. LOL.
I have made baked honey chicken thighs, mapo tofu, ba kut teh, seafood marinara spaghetti, french crepes with scrambled eggs, stir fry vegetables, vinegared chicken, vegetables with oyster sauce, fried rice, fried hokkien mee and black pepper prawn udon so far!! My mum would be sooooo proud of me! haha!

Oh! And here's what I wore on Sunday. Just a casual outfit for a quick trip.

Kat - After exams and moving out

Who would have known that after my exams it'll still be so hectic? It's even more stressful than during the exams. The packing of stuff, the sending back, the arguing with some bast**d who works in the Canberra pack and send, the moving to a new place, the cleaning up and the settling in.

Gosh! It's all busy busy go go go.

After my exams ended, I had only 3 days to pack and send everything that I want back home. If you are wondering, I'm going back Singapore to complete my degree. Therefore, the need to send all my stuff back. The manager who happens to also be the only guy that works in the civic pack and send just sucks. I'm not gonna bore you with the details of what the guy did and this is also a fashion blog, as well as a happy one, so I'm gonna rant and rant and curse him on my personal blog later! Anyway, I sent 4 boxes back home. Pardon the no makeup face these few days as everyday was really busy and hectic!

That's my 4 boxes of stuff back home. They cost 400AUD! I've pretty much pack all my clothes in, so I'm like left with those clothes that I don't really like and I haven really worn yet.

I love the black bag! It's really big and handy! I can throw literally everything in. Hoho!

I spent the last day in my hall taking pictures! It was kinda last minute. The whole hall was so empty. There were like ten people left? Eerieee!

The weather in Canberra has been crazy. It's supposed to be summer but temperature here in the day is like 6 degrees? The white jacket that I had on me, I had originally planned to give it to the salvation army. I dug that out to wear as I have packed every single warm clothing that I owned in those 4 boxes. I thought you wouldn't need a jacket in summer! And in Australia at that. But it's so cold these few days. Murphy's Law. hurhur.

I shifted into my friend's house 3 days ago? The location is really great. 15 mins walk to the city centre and 10 min bus ride to the Chinatown in Canberra. The house is really big and the rent is great. The only bad point is that it's a little run down and old.

It's a post guy's birthday dinner celebration! We didn't really have one as were having our exams during his birthday week. The dinner was so good. I had like one of the best dinner here! We went for a tim sum buffet. Sweet. I love yumcha.

I just finished my exams yesterday. 3 cheerss!
It was such a long journey, but I'm glad it's over. Some of the exam were fine, and some weren't as good as I hoped it'll be. But what's done is done, I can just hope that the results will be satisfactory.

One thing for sure that happens during exam. I just get fatter and fatter. You wake up in the morning at 8? Have breakfast, come up into your tiny little room and start studying. You go down for lunch at 12.30pm and then at maybe 2, you start studying again. At 3, you have a teabreak because the hall serves "stress food" to all residents during exams. So what is stress food? It's pastries, cookies, scones, muffins, basically all that makes you fat. At around 6pm, you have dinner. At 8pm you start studying again. And maybe at 1am, you feel hungrie and cook some instant noodles. And you take a break from studying as you eat. You sleep at maybe 3 to 4 am? The cycle repeats itself the next day.
WHEN YOU STUDY ALL YOU DO IS SIT ON YOUR CHAIR IN THE ROOM NOT MOVING A SINGLE METRE. gosh. Plus all the coffee, chocolates, lollies, chips. What have you, all these are your best friends. haha.

So now, let me take you through a journey of me - getting fat. (please note that this does not happens to guy. In fact he lost weight. I have no idea how. His metabolism is astonishing. And i hate him for that. IDIOT!)

1st outfit

This was what I wore for my last week of school.

2nd outfit

I wore this for some international farewell thingy held by my college. This is done half yearly to like send off the internationals that will be leaving at the end of the semester. And my heels, they are 5 inches high. My highest ever. I cannot wear them. LOL. I kinda like trip all over.

3rd outfit
This was what I wore to my first day of exam. Guy had this shirt that he didn't want so I took it and cut off the sleeves and the collar!! AND THE GIRL IS NOT ME! Lol. Isn't it a little creepy, that girl's face? I thought it looks that way.

My third exam paper. And I went for a dinner and karaoke session after that. It was kinda like a mini farewell party for me. The guys were really sweet and they even had a cake! haha.

It's getting abit obvious here that I put on weight. This is my final exam. 3 weeks of not going out and just stuck in my room studying.

This was what I wore when I went out earlier today for shopping and girls night out. I had pasta, and it was good. Both the company and the food! =)
Those are my new pair of heels! I know I'm abit slow in getting the oxfords, but woohoo I love them. They are absolutely yummy to me. haha! I went DFO earlier today and I bought 2 bags for school. They are big, so that's a plus point. n_n

Hoho! I gave guy a surprise party yesterday!
The cake was fab, the company was great. Admist the busy studying, everyone took time out to give guy a pre birthday celebration!
His birthday is next sunday, but as we have exams starting next week, I decided to throw him an advance birthday celebration!

He was really happy and surprise! We got him voucher and this awesome book that I made containing everyone's well wishes. =]

We got 2 cakes for him. White raspberry cheesecake and chocolate. YUM!

Hi there! This has been my week of shitty luck! Just when I am writing this, 2 hours ago the soccer ball just landed on my nose causing it to bleed! But it is fine now although I double checked with the mirror and feel its abit more to the left. If you guys notice any changes on my face after this post please tell me!

This week amidst all my bad luck we had valete, a dinner to wish farewell to all departing residents. Well again it is as sad as Spartos for me as I got a project due next day and haven't done much, and also 2 class tests! Well, this is shitty week, and I flung both! Hope my project goes well though.. oo.. maybe its because of the tie I wore to Valete, its shit colour :( .

On me: Belt ($5), tie thrifted ($1), shirt from Crocodile ($50), thrifted woman's blazer, skinny formal pants from Jeanswest ($8.99), WS white shoes ($20).

Anyway, crocodile is one of my favourite brands. They exists long ago when my father buy their shirts off departmental stores, but now I suppose a new management took over and revamp their image! It is very stylish and I like all the clothings on their mannequin. Good thing is they are not too expensive, and hopefully I have more of their stuff when I start working.

Have been superrrrrr busy with school work. =(
I have 2 assignments due. One is tomorrow and another one next monday!
Didn't really have the time to blog until now.

So, let's put things back in order! ^^
I bought a pair of shoessssss!! haha! Remember when I said I have this civic voucher? The shoes shop (called Zu by the way) is having a 40% off sale. And the prices were slashed, so using the voucher I purchased this pair of pretty wonderful shoes at $30. It's original price is $140. So it's a pretty good bargain! =)
I was deciding between size 8 or 9 as size 8 is a little tight but size 9 is a little loose. I got size 8 in the end and I'm glad I chose the smaller size as it looks way better. Will wear them out tomorrow! Haven't had the chance to bring them out for a walk yet.

We had this surprise party for 3 of our friends last Friday.
And this was what I wore.

But this is AD 2k+, it is hard to imagine that the Lord might want to stick to the same style of clothing for few thousand years. Kat - New Haven Can Wait

I just caught the latest episode of Gossip Girl. Blair's wardrobe last night was not impressive. I thought she deserves better clothes! But still, it was fun to watch. I feel a little sad for Chuck as he is always alone, and Nate over-reacted with Chuck using Dan even when Chuck protected him. Nate chose Dan over Chuck. Well, Dan is nice and all, but I don't see his story in this season. He is so boring! He has no storyline at all. And why is Nate hooking up with so many random girls so quickly? LOL. I like the S and B parts the most. Despite all the catfights, the sabotaging, S and B made up in the end, so all is good and shiny.

As guy previously mentioned, we made a trip down to Salvos for about an hour. I'm really glad as he bought 2 gorgeous bags. I bought 2 scarves and 2 necklaces and the bag that I'm carrying below! And I DON'T HAVE 7 vintage bags. LOL! I have like 4?
I just washed both the scarves. The water is amazingly brown. Haha! I'm glad it's clean now, so I can wear it! Yay!

The bag is my new collection. I cut this purple tee into the tank top as the collar is chocking me. The skirt was belted as it's a little loose. The belt was from another skirt.

GUY HAS A FANTASTIC METABOLISM! He eats 2 packets of instant noodles for supper and he does not get fat. Not an ounce of fat is on him. And when we cook supper, he'll share it with me. And I'll happily eat the noodles. I thought that since he won't get fat, I won't too!!
BUT BUT BUT!! that is so untrue. I have been piling on excess weight at all the wrong places! hahahahahah! Shed it off shed it off!! Summer is here soon. Time to shed off those gain during winter!!

Guy - Yet another salvation army conquered

Today we made a hasty attack on the salvation army in Macquaire (not sure of the spelling), and we made a few buys! It was the first time that I actually managed to find bags, and made a fantastic swoop on two of it.

This one I found it buried under a heap of polyester bags, the same feeling as digging out a treasure buried under the soil. It costs $5, looks new and I can bring it to office. The brand is Fortune Duck (sounds like a chinese restuarant) and it is founded in 1936 in Italy. Yet to check out the brand on internet but love the quality and color no matter what.

The second bag I acquired ($5 too), it is pretty small like a lady's handbag, its a lady's brand. But I guess it looks manly enough for me to use it. Great quality, it is leather and made in England. Kat likes it too, but she let me have it. Haha, that is partly because she already have like 7 other vintage bags!

Last item from the store, was helping Kat look out for nice necklace and I saw this. She said it was suitable for guys as well so I bought it for $1.

The start of a new term is in 24 hours. 3 weeks to finals. Gosh! Time is going a little too fast for me.
It's time to start studying for it! I think the number of posts will be dropping as me and guy won't have the luxury to go out shopping and take outfit posts anymore. Nevertheless, we will try to post regularly.

A short trip out today! Didn't do much, didn't come back full of bargains or satisfaction. But I did come back with a cute little badge.

I forgot that I actually mentioned I hope to showcase some sceneries of Australia in the description on the right. And so I have another excuse to blog more to compete with Kat!

Got to admit that it is actually not the sceneries of Canberra's beautiful mountains or sea, but it is more like taking pictures of what I see as beautiful in Canberra. My other hobby! :)

The movie was so touching and there were so many parts I could feel so much emotions swelling inside me. And guy was really sweet. He got the toy for me as a surprise when we went out yesterday. Thank you! I really love the toy and the surprise.

Guy - Shopping school holiday

This has been one of the nicest holiday I've had, hopping from one shopping destination to another. I explored the civic shopping centre, DFO and then thrift shops. I must say, the amount of happiness increased in the same order as well!

Thrift shops are my favourites. I pay an amount I pay in a shopping centre to receive 5 times as many stuffs and also 2 times a better brand! Not trying to exaggerate, I really had a great time at the thrift shops. It is really good fun hunting for things you don't know what to expect and you are also doing a form of charity as well!

Bought these two shirts from Cotton On. They cost $10 each and are on 75% sale. I like them as they are the last ones of my size left, and I can wear them both during Summer and in Singapore as well. It is versatile with either jeans or short pants and the material is very cooling. Cotton on has great shirt cutting and good quality, and they sure are cheap.

Got the shoes from DFO, the same shop I got my brown working shoes. And again, I am always lucky getting the last sizes on sale, and these shoes I can use them both for long or short pants. They cost $20 and I might even be able to use them for working!

Me and guy head down to the Salvos store today!
We didn't expect to see so much great stuff. And we still thought we wouldn't be spending much time and money there. I only had 15 dollars with me! I was lucky it was enough!

I bought 2 bags and a oversized checkered blazer. The bags cost 3 and 4 dollars while the blazer was on sale at 3 dollars! Haha! I had fun looking for those hidden treasures!
Guy bought 2 jackets. And it looks great on him!

Went out for an hour with guy to get some much needed stuff - gummies for me! WAHAHA!
And guy bought a belt and socks. Plus he got some really yummy shoes yesterday!!
I went out without any makeup on! I must add that I prepared in 5 minutes. Miss speedy!

The wind was really strong so my hair is all over my face! But it's alright because I look worse without makeup. Oh, that's my new necklace! I love it! It looks super sailormoon but I still less than three it. Guess I just like all things magical and fairytale like. LOL!

Yesterday had such a fine weather: cloudy with a gentle breeze blowing. The temperature was perfect, I think it was at 18 degrees?

Me and guy went to the Floriade. It is a annual event where you see flowers (millions and millions of them!) in this park. We decided to go yesterday as I heard from those that had gone saying that the flowers are starting to wilt.

We took loads of pictures on the way there! yay!

Today me and Kat went to the floriade, an exhibition in Canberra that has alot of flowers which I am personally not a big fan of. Luckily the weather was great, not windy and sunny, and I took the chance to take more pictures of Kat around the university before she returns to Singapore for her final semester. Well I hope she post pictures I took for her the next entry because I think some of it are really nice! :)

Kat - Celebrating our found 'lost' keys

Guy lost our keys when he went to watch the table tennis match.
For the past 2-3 weeks, we have been living without the keys. Our room doors were unlock like 24/7.
in order to enter our hall up to our rooms, we need to use the keys to open this main door. Being the keyless us, we always have to wait for people to come down from their rooms or for someone to go up before we can get actually into the building.
If we report it lost to the hall admins, we have to replace the key. The cost of one key is 65, so 2 keys total up to 130. We were really contemplating of reporting it soon. Living without keys is such a hassle.
Then yesterday, this kind soul called!! The person said that she had picked up the keys and will return it to usssss! !woohoo!!
Guy offered a 20 buck reward(which is quite small compared to what he originally had to pay) but she didn't take it. So kind!!
Today, we went out to celebrate our found keyss!! yay!
Ate so much. Ice chocolate is wonderful. Oh! I bought a new pair of shoes!

Guy - Job interview

I just had my first serious job interview since so long. And this was the hardest I ever had, as it is my first in Australia and I always had problem listening to the accent of Australians. But I think I did better than I expected, and even if it didn't work out, I am glad that I get to experience it.

The interview was rather difficult as compared to what Kat did in another company. They started off with some questions that were tedious to me, and just when I thought they finished, the interviewer whipped out a piece of paper containing like 7 questions that require long answer questions. It was the first time in my life I told so much lies in a 45 min time frame. Lol.

But I liked the job because I will be working as a waiter in Parliament House, and I had a direct bus from my hostel to that place. But they needed me to work at least 3 days a week, and I am still contemplating if it is worth it for my stay here. Anyway, I am here to study.

After that tiring and intensive experience, me and Kat went to a picnic held by a Chinese to celebrate China National Day. The food was pretty good, ate so much that I need to take a good sleep for my body to digest the food. Sorry I am not going to put pictures of anything else rather than me. Haha.

Kat - Drop Crotch Alibaba and Muffins yum and Parliament!

Went out for dinner a day before my assignment was due. Wanted to make it a quick one, so I pulled my comfy pants that I had for like 3 years and bun up my hair. Travelled to the store, only to find that it closes on Sunday. Why are Aussies so lazy?? In the end, we ate at Happys. It's a really famous chinese restaurant in Canberra. Food is good and service is really fast.
Hotplate tofu is super delicious.

What's on me: Alibaba pants from bugis street, Supre white spaghetti, giordano cut out tee, Rubi strappy shoes, black necklaces from X-craft.

I went to the Brand depot (it's like the direct factory outlets but suckier) to reward myself after submitting my essay. I was around civic centre and there is this store that sells muffins that run out at 11am. I have not tried it before, but I heard people that did say it is really yummy and nice.
I bought the raspberry and white chocolate one and had the pleasure of trying it for the first time. It's quite nice, but it definitely does not warrant a trip down when I'm only half awake at 9am.

I went to a celebration event in Canberra. It's basically to celebrate the 15th year of sister relationship between canberra and nara. It was so boring I could cry. There was absolutely nothing there to see at all.
It's some performance and some push cart food stores selling overpriced food at ultra small quantity and average taste. Made a bad decision to go.

Guy - Bringing a 2 hours of sleep face to Spartos

Last night I had Spartos, an event to commemorate all competitions our hall had for 2008, arts, sports, poker, so on. I missed part of the video presentation, in other words me and Kat missed out on seeing ourselves (we are interhall pool champs! so am I a Spartan?) on the big screen with everyone gathered. Luckily I got to see a replay of the video and saw what we missed. Missed nothing much though.

Went to the dinner with deprived sleep, in addition I still have a class test to study (which I hadn't ) and an assignment to complete that night. Therefore, reduction of alcohol consumption that night.

I finally waited for the day to use my new buys. The shirt I bought last year which I yet to wear and the new shoes I just bought from DFO. Love the shoes..

That's my haggard face, and I am becoming an anorexic. I lost 5 kg this year. Shit

Kat - Ping pong aka table tennis finals!

I went for our inter-hall table tennis finals!
Everyone was so pumped up and cheering their lungs away.
Each rooting for it's own hall!
Our hall had won 1 singles, 1 doubles and lost the next single.
So, it was down to the final final singles set with our hall star player and the star player from other hall chasing each other neck in neck, point by point.
Our star was really calm and composed and he perform under the tremendous pressure.
It was then the moment where it’s a lose or a shot at the win (they both deuce earlier and player from the other hall was at match point).
Player from the other hall then smashed the ball after quite a long rally, it flew, hit the net and stopped for a moment on the net before it finally decided to fall on our side of the table.
Point lose. 12-10. We lost. Game over. Everyone was disappointed because it was really unlucky.
Quite an anti climatic end. I was hoping for some huge smashes though.
But our team still did great, so hooray for 2nd! =]

Kat - End of CT1 Exam

I finished my CT 1 exam. I didn't manage to get the credit grade required for actuarial exemption, so I had to sit for the external exam held by IAA. By that it means, I'm overloadinggggggggg!!! Therefore, I'm really glad it's over! I have been neglecting all the other subjects because of this exam. So now, I'll need to catch up. With all the deadlines of assignment sprinting up upon me too. =(

Guy went to "celebrate" with me after the exam. We went for lunch at IORI (this fantastic Japanese restaurant in Canberra Civic). I thought I should reward myself for slogging for the exam! haha! okie okie, it's an excuse to go out and have a good meal. We had the Tasmanian don which is made up of super fresh and yummy salmon sashimi on vinegar rice and also Oyaku Don which is extremely delicious as well. =]

Guy - DFO adventure for the guy

Hello, yea I love the newly opened DFO in Fyshwick (must be wrong). It has many good shops and I need to warn you, if you are getting something which you might not be 100% sure, don't! Finish walking all the shops first because your adventure through the DFO might even lead you to bigger treasures! The more you walk the more you see! Therefore it is important you have good time management if it is your first time there.

Well, I bought some stuff and til now I am still very happy with all of it. Here are the things I got.

A bag! It used to cost $100, now its $10. Love it alot, it is durable and versatile. And has a lappie compartment!

I was only a wearing a t-shirt to the DFO in the chilly weather cause I hate to shop carrying a jacket on my hand. This jacket came at the right time! 12 bucks.

Loved the shoes, and I thought I need it when I work. Love this one cause it is on the sales section and the size fits me perfect. Love at first sight too. $40. Good aussie brand.

This sungless I bought for $90 down from $200 with 55% off. Been wanting one for a long time, and I know I will use it for as long as it can last. I hope it is really durable... There are many aviators out there, but this one has the right rim size and good lens angle for me. The best aviator I tried and I gonna work so that I am paying for it with my own money!

The reality is, I am already 25 :( and I gonna enter the working life in half year's time! Think I will stop buying all those clothings that I cannot wear to work. Sad life yea.. But most of the things I bought during from the DFO can be used in future!

yay! Went DFO with guy today! =)
It was great! My favourite store would be RUBI SHOES! They have great and up to trend shoe designs with great prices to match. Charcoal is also in my top list! I love every single clothing in there. From the dresses to the high waisted skirts and shorts to the jackets. I wanna buy the store down.
Steve Madden has fantastic designs but the price is on the higher end with each pair costing an average of AUD160. Being the poor college student, I decided against getting this pair of beautiful peep toe oxford slingback.
There are still like 1/5 of the shops which are not open, but I had fun shopping in the mere 3 hours that we were there! I went on a crazy shopping spree. Not really crazy to me, but I think to some people it would seem so.
I got from left to right: Dottie floral dress ( for spring), long grey cardigan, gold mini tube dress, black mini skirt, hollister pink top and dotti plaid shirt-dress.
I also got this Abercrombie and Fitch polo for my brother! Plus 3 new shoesss! yay!!
And I got some other stuff for my family as well! A tee for my dad and 1 dress and 1 top for my mum! Happy!

Guy bought a Calvin Klein Aviator shades. And he looks quite wonderful in it. On top of that, he also got a pair of gorgeous shoes, a bag and also a hoodie.

I have a exam this coming Tuesday and I still went out today. Gosh.

Oh.. I saw the London Spring'09 RTW. I love the Temperley London Spring'09 collection.

Aren't they gorgeous? I like the way they paired the cloche hats with the outfit, instantly brightening the outfit up! The dresses also makes me go oooh and ahhh. They are girly yet not over doing it. I'm in love with the entire collection.
I need a hat like this.

Kat - Mid Autumn Festival without the mooncake

Today is the Mid Autumn Festival! But I have no mooncake. I had planned on buying one, but the journey to Dickson again puts the idea off. Travelling 1.5 hours for 1 mooncake seems like a silly thing to do especially when I just went there 3 days ago??

But I did went out for dinner with some friends! The dinner was good. But I had dinner at the same restaurant 2 days earlier and so, food didn't taste as fantastic as it should be.

What's on me:
Black cut off giordano top, orange tube as skirt, brown bow hairclip, white supre tights, gold crocs ballet flats.

I'm gonna go admire the moon now! bye!

Kat n Guy - Tiredness

This entry is 3 days later than what I wanted to blog about, but ensured myself that I make an effort to contribute if not Kat will be lonely in the blog. We went to Dickson on Wednesday and on the way, we stopped along the lake to take some photos since bus rides are unlimited within the 1 and 1/2 hour time period. Dickson is a place in Canberra where many Asians get their well-missed Asian foods from.
This is the first bus-stop on our way to Dickson. It is the breeding season for ducks, and there are many mini ducks following their parents around now.

The mini ducks are heavily guard by their parents. This father is less fertile because I have seen a platoon of around 15 ducklings before! Haha I hope to kidnap one someday.

This is the 2nd bus stop, it's just outside the museum, and we will visit it one day. It has many weird looking structures, as well as a collection of the history of Australia. I have been there once before but I left halfway because of time constraint and thus missed out on the more exciting part.

The Cotton On cardigan was my love at first sight, and I only got it after awhile when it is on half price.
We proceeded to take more pictures around the lake within the 30 min time frame. It is not a very nice part of the lake, but it looks really peaceful if you go to the correct spot.

Arrived a Dickson 1 hour + later.

Left Dickson 1 hour + later with a whole lotta of food, around $50 worth. We made an amazing discovery in Dickson today. They have a thrift shop! Something me and Kat have been talking about, whether we can find it in Canberra. She went to ask the cashier about other outlets and the cashier mentioned that there are a few more of it here in Canberra! I cannot find any useful stuff there but we got ourselves each a Banana in Pyjamas softtoy for $6. ;)

I hope Kat will be able to find some treasures there the next time we go back like a Chanel vintage bag for 5 bucks!

Haha! yah. I too hope that I can find great vintage bags. We should go scout for hidden buys in those vintage shops when we are free . The DFO (Direct factory outlet) in Canberra is open! Let's go together soon guy! =)

Kat - Tropic thunder

Me and guy caught a movie with our floor today. It's our floor party and woohoo tickets are paid for. The movie that we caught, tropic thunder was pretty good. The entertainment value is high with stars like ben stiller, tom cruise and mr iron man. The jokes are pretty funny too. The plot wasn't fantastic but I guess the humor kind of makes up for it. Weather is still freezing, and my heater spoilt. So, for the past few days I have been living in an igloo. It is that cold.

What's on me:
Ice bandage dress, pink gossip bling vest, black boots, black purse from melbourne.

I tried curling my hair, but the waves just kind of die down after awhile. Tomorrow I'm gonna go get food. =] And I want a mooncake. This Sunday is mid autumn festival, I know it doesn't mean much to some, well it didn't mean much to me before I came here too. But now, away from home, I miss the festive feel, the laughter, the joy of having your friends and family together eating a simple dish that is common back home but is deem as a rare commodity here.

Kat - 1st day of Spring

Hello Spring! Welcome to Canberra, it's been pretty cold the past few months. We are looking at like 1 degree everyday, so it's good to have you here! And I'm looking forward to all the flowy, flowery, spring designs!

Being the first day of Spring, I thought it wouldn't be cold. I was wrong. Temperature is still at an average of 6 degrees. I was late for class, (I woke up at 8.45am while my class is at 9) and had only 15 mins to prepare. When I stepped out, I regretted my decision of not wearing more. I didn't bother putting much makeup on my face as I was late.

What's on me:
Supre white top, White Cardigan, Black skirt from long ago, Supre checkered scarf, Target leggings and black boots.

My face is getting kind of bloated. I think it's due to my sugar consumption. I need to cut down on that.

And I saw this cute bicycle in our hall today.

It's quite cute isn't it? I wish I knew how to cycle, so I could get a vintage bike myself and ride around the campus. =(

Oh, and remember the screwed up paper that I talked about in the previous post?
I think 70% of the class failed. I failed too, but I'm at the median. LOL!

Guy - Both good and bad day

Today was the first time since very long I slept before the sun came up! That is why I have more mood to wear my contact lenses and feel better by wearing nicer. Well that's my opinion of nicer :)

Whats on me : Ocean Pacific Jacket, Westco Tee, Dotti Jeans, Novo Shoes, Korean cap, Roger David belt.

Well bad day mainly because of a small test I expected to get full marks I only got alittle more than half. -_-. Before that I sat for another test of the same subject and couldn't do. After some cursing, God felt pity for my soul and made the rest of my day a better one. Thanks God.

Good things are I played a happy game of table tennis, got full marks for another of my class test, acted less anti-social during meals, and found out that our ball pictures actually looked quite good! We are eager to post them just that we need to obtain the proffesional shots first. I hope they looked nicer when enlarged cause all we could see are only the pictures in the smallest neo print sizes.

O another thing that made my day was some website which I got a picture from, and the best part is many people got funny reactions from it. LOL. I am genuinely still laughing at it now even though it is already 5.42 am. Yes, it is another sleepless night. Heres the picture!

Kat - Fighting the hidden dragon

Guess we haven't really been updating. Both of us have been busy with our mid sem exams and didn't have the time to blog. I just had one test yesterday and it was totally screwed. To make up for it, me and guy went out today! =)

What's on me:
Dress as top from Bugis Street, Supre black Skirt, Coach wine bag, Speedy Rhino black shoes.

I wanted to mosaic my face but have no idea how. Guy is busy studying for his 4 mid sem next week. So I better not disturb him! I'm sure he'll make it up next week by posting tons of pictures!

What we saw and had today. We had the combination roast platter and fried rice, not the guinea pig.

The 4 hours of sleep last night left me pretty grumpy about lots of issues. Being stuck in a foreign land makes me miss asian food more and appreciate the times where some friends and I will just head down to a decent Chinese restaurant.

Went for a semi-formal dinner and decided to put on this dress that I bought for 4 months but never got around wearing.

Didn't feel like showing my face yet so I airbrush my face using paint. haha.

That's taken in my college, the place that I'm staying in. I guess most of my pictures will be taken in front of these brick walls, unless GUY helps me take some when we go out.

Hi all! This is blog is created for Singaporeans by Singaporeans hopefully to showcase our quite normal Singaporean lifestyles. We are currently studying in Canberra(well abit less normal, sry). We were browsing through blogs of Singaporeans (cause we miss home) and felt that we have sucked in less than enough new blog entries, so we decided to come out with a blog ourselves, hopefully to contribute to the world of blogs for those like us.
